FRIENDS of the DUTCH TILE MUSEUM

The Foundation's main goal is to excite interest for the Dutch Tile Museum (Nederlands Tegelmuseum) in Otterlo, The Netherlands and to give it her full support. In addition the Foundation seeks to collect knowledge as much as possible on all aspects related to tiles and their production techniques.

Each last Saturday of September the annual meeting of the Foundation takes place in Otterlo or at another location in the Netherlands (alternately); lectures on different tile subjects are mostly combined with a tile exhibition or another tile related special event.

Each year in September, an annual, called TEGEL is edited (in Dutch). This annual contains 6 to 8 articles on various tile subjects written by members or sympathizers of the Foundation; TEGEL counts 48 to 56 pages and includes multiple black & white and colour illustrations. In order to enable foreign members to understand the subjects described, starting with TEGEL 25 (September 1997), an English summary is appended to each article (these summaries are posted on this website too). The annual is distributed during the annual meeting to members who have paid their subscription for the current year; those who are unable to attend the annual meeting, will receive it by mail.

In February and September a Newsletter, called Vriendennieuws, is published (in Dutch) by the secretariat of the Foundation including information on exhibitions set up in Nederlands Tegelmuseum, in the Netherlands and abroad, the invitation letter and the agenda of the annual meeting, requests from members, publicity and communications of the committee to the members .

Members of the Foundation have free entrance to the Dutch Tile Museum in Otterlo upon presentation of their membership card. With a so-called partner-card free entrance is also granted to the partner.

In the Museum there are some special Show-cases of the Friends. In these show-cases, exhibitions of tiles out of the collections of the Friends are set up periodically.

The subscription fee amounts to € 25 per year or € 32 with a partner. This amount is entirely allocated to the  Foundation. Each year 10% of the contributions is donated to the museum.
Subscription can be made using the form on the "Word Begunstiger" page or by sending name and full address to the administrator:
G.J.M. de Ree, Springerstraat 153, 3822 TB Amersfoort.

At the beginning of each calendar year you will receive a request for payment of your subscription. Foreign members can pay the subscription by international payment using:

att. of Stichting Vrienden Nederlands Tegelmuseum, Amersfoort
OR

The members can contribute each year an extra amount for the Donation fund; if one pays more than the annual subscription fee and explicitly mentions "donation" on his payment form, the excess will be deposited in the Donation fund. This fund is used to purchase special tiles, books and educational material that are offered to the Museum.
